According to the architects, the new building will be a "small city" with corridors-streets and lobbies-squares connecting various functional areas. An opera house for 1,800 spectators, a conference hall with 2,500 seats and an exhibition center will be located under a single roof on a total area of 100,000 m2. Medium and small conference rooms will be located “on the periphery” of the building. The project uses the coastal location of Dalian: the complex's cooling system using seawater will reduce energy costs by 30%.
Also, "Coop Himmelb (l) ay" presented a redesigned project of the MOCAPE exhibition center for Shenzhen: the concept of its solution changed from "wave" to "urban monolith".
