Architectural bureau 51N4E (Brussels) will carry out the construction of the 85 m high TID Tower (Tirana International Development) in the central district of Tirana. It will become part of a large-scale plan for the construction of an ensemble of skyscrapers in the city. The first of these will be the Henning Larsen Tower.
Lighting effects were the main theme of the project. Its elliptical plan smoothly turns into rectangular outlines with increasing height. The surface of the building is covered with an ornamental triangle motif, reminiscent of the traditions of Albanian wooden architecture (in turn, a reflection of the influence of Muslim architecture in Turkey) and of the slotted elements of concrete buildings of socialist modernism.
The base of the tower will contain shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities.
