A new pavilion for the Yorkshire Cricket Club will be built in Leeds, on the edge of the playing field. Its volume will bend slightly, repeating the rounded shape of this "arena"; its complex will also include spectator stands attached to the side of the field.
The green-painted building has many triangular faces, but overall its shape tends to lean towards the traditional rectangular block.
The significant size for such a structure - five floors - and a budget of 20 million pounds is explained by the fact that the pavilion will also serve as an educational building for the University of Leeds. The construction is planned to be completed in 2010.
