Local authorities have decided that this private home in Oxfordshire will not disturb the beauty of the landscape of southern England, and construction of the building will begin this year.

Working in this area of Great Britain is particularly difficult for architects, as its natural landscape is a national treasure, and it is believed that careless construction there can irrevocably destroy one or another famous "view".

Chipperfield's task was particularly difficult: the building plot, next to the old farmhouse, sits above a cliff (and even had to be reinforced with a retaining wall) and is clearly visible from afar.

The new one-storey building will be incorporated into the surrounding space through the four landscaped courtyards that make up its structure. They face different directions of the world and act as an intermediate space between the interior of the house and the agricultural land around. The building unfolds into the landscape, unfolding in a horizontal direction, and even the views from the top of the hill become part of its ensemble. The house is designed for eight people, and its total area is 2300 sq. m.

It is worth comparing the version of Chipperfield's "inconspicuous" suburban building with the project of the Bureau "Futures Systems", made for similar conditions.
