Now the official authorship of the building has changed a bit: during its construction, the bureau collapsed, and its leaders, Julien De Schmedt and Bjarke Ingels, managed to found their own workshops, BIG and JDS.
The residential complex, whose name can be translated as "mountain dwellings", is another experiment on the theme of inexpensive, environmentally friendly and functional urban housing, which is important for the creativity of both architects.
In this case, 80 apartments are located on a platform that hides a garage for 480 cars. Thus, the problem with the placement of residents' cars is solved, and the residents receive, thanks to the location of their apartments on a gentle "mountain" of parking, small green terraces and openness to sunlight (the height of the garage increases in the north direction, and the apartments are oriented in the opposite - south - side).
The southern facades of the residential units of the complex are sheathed with wooden planks, the other sides of the building are faced with perforated aluminum panels. Through these holes, which together form the silhouette of Mount Everest, light and fresh air enters the garage.
