This year, the winner was Marc Barani with his multifunctional center building at the terminus of the Nice tram line. His building is located next to the motorway, on a small plot of land with an irregular shape. The architect was able to place on it not only the depot building and the actual terminal station, but also the control room, administrative premises, an intercepting parking lot and a social and cultural center. The volumetric-spatial composition of the complex and the location of its functional zones are consistent with the prevailing directions of traffic and pedestrians in the adjacent territories. The result is a dynamic stretch of urban landscape designed to bring the surrounding neighborhoods to life. Due to the location of a significant part of the premises of the complex underground, it does not block the views from the windows of nearby residential buildings. Some of its ceilings have been converted into green roofs that filter rainwater, natural ventilation is widely used in the interiors, and the facades are equipped with sun screens.

The jury-selected finalists for the award were Jean Guervilly and Françoise Mauffret with their Biology Center, University Paris-13.

The First Build Prize went to Marjan Hessamfar and Joe Vérons for their kindergarten building in Senone, Gironde.
