This will be a "chamber concert hall", which will be set up in one of the premises of the city's art gallery as part of the next Manchester International Festival, which will be held this summer.
The structure, which resembles a blossoming spring, is inspired by the music of Bach. According to the organizers, it will be a kind of Gesamtkunstwerk of music and architecture separated by three centuries.
Nine concerts will take place in this space from July 3 to 18, 2009: these will be solo performances by pianist Pyotr Andershevsky, cellist Jean-Guien Keir and violinist Alina Ibragimova. However, the Hadid building will be available for free admission until the very end of the festival - August 31st.
