Participants were invited to develop designs for two new buildings in the city harbor - the Munch Museum and the Dykman Library (as part of the Dykman Axis). These two buildings will be part of the regeneration program for the entire seaside district of Oslo, begun by the construction of the Snehetta Opera House and followed by a recent competition for a central station project won by another Norwegian bureau, Space Group.

The new building of the Munch Museum will display works by this artist from the existing Munch Museum and from the collection of the Stenersen Museum; around it is supposed to create a public space. The competition for the design of this museum building was won by Juan Herreros.

The jury also noted the close connection between the building and its surroundings: the public space of the embankments, urban development, and the fjord.

The best version of the "Dykman Axis" ensemble was recognized as the work "Diagonal" workshops Lund Hagem Arkitekter and Atelier Oslo. The jury noted the dynamic solution of both the volume of the library itself and the adjacent area, as well as the high energy efficiency and functionality of the project.
