The building of the museum is supposed to be built on a hill - more precisely, built into its slope. It will be a green amphitheater connecting Andreevsky Descent and Mikhailovskaya Square, and will become a new public space in the city center. It is the location of the museum in the historical environment that demanded a careful attitude towards the existing natural and architectural landscape of Kiev: this version of the project will not change the skyline in the city and will not obscure the views of individual key buildings in the area; it is even planned to preserve some of the trees growing at the site of the future construction in the "body" of the building.
The horizontal surfaces of the building will be covered with turf, the vertical ones will be glazed. Closer to the surface of the earth, there will be spaces with natural light - the lobby of the museum and the administrative premises. Exhibition halls will be located in the depths. At the same time, the exhibition space will be extended outside as well: some of the works will be placed outdoors.
