The Master Plan for Hearts of Doha, developed by Elise & Morrison in collaboration with Arup engineers and landscape architects EDAW, envisages new development for a 35-hectare site in the city center by 2016.

This area is bordered by Emiri Diwan, home to government offices and the Emir's palace, and the old Souq Waqif market (recently demolished and completely rebuilt in traditional forms). It is within the boundaries of the future "Heart of Doha" that the oldest part of the city is located, which, according to Qatari developers, has now lost not only its historical appearance, but also a significant part of the residents who have moved to other areas.

Elise & Morrison's master plan, currently in preliminary development, envisages a total of 226 buildings ranging from 3 to 30 stories high. It will house nearly 28 thousand people and offices, as well as the building of the national archive, theater and museum, hotels - and the "heritage quarter". It is assumed that the development of the "Heart of Doha" will combine elements of modern and traditional Arab architecture.
