The new district will be located on the Killesberg hill, next to the park of the same name and not far from the Weissenhof itself. By 2012, there will be residential buildings, shops, cafes, offices, a kindergarten and a community center with a total area of 50,000 m2.

The architects involved in the project clearly draw a parallel with the 1927 exhibition and even formed the New Werkbund, which included David Chipperfield, Ortner & Ortner, KCAP, Baumschlager & Eberle and Barkov Leibinger, as well as the initiator of the entire enterprise, a development company Fürst Developments.

Formally, the designs of the individual buildings in Killesberg neither emulate those of Weissenhof, nor follow in the footsteps of his architects in terms of innovation: these are very discreet buildings, with the exception of the multifunctional complex "Scenario". The curved facades of this Barkov Leibinger workshop building are supposed to be decorated with wood panels; inside will be the offices of companies of the "creative sphere" - design bureaus, advertising agencies, etc., as well as an exhibition gallery of the nearby Academy of Arts. Another building of the new district will be connected with this educational institution - the residential area "Art Quarter" by the Ortner & Ortner bureau: all of its 40 apartments will be leased to students and teachers of the Academy. The ensemble will also include residential buildings with terraces by KCAP architects, Baumschlager & Eberle apartment buildings and a 7-storey residential tower with a kindergarten on the 1st floor of David Chipperfield. An important place in the district will be occupied by the "Forum K" Ortner & Ortner community center with shops, cafes and service establishments.

The master plan of the ensemble was developed in detail by the architects Ortner & Ortner, based on the winning design by Ackermann & Raff.
