The building will serve not only as a museum, but also as a "base" for the Ensemble MidtVest classical music ensemble and the Socle du Monde art biennale.

For this building, Hall was inspired by the theme of fabric; An important role in this was played by a 1960s textile factory located near the new building with a plan in the form of a shirt collar. It was the collection of its owner that became the basis of the museum's collection (a significant part of it are the works of Piero Manzoni, who was in Herning, and the artists of the Arté Povera movement). Thus, the one-story museum of modern art acquired a plan in the form of "shirts" casually thrown on the ground, at the ends of the "sleeves" of which there are a cafe, an auditorium for 150 seats, a lobby and administrative premises. Thus, the autonomy of these spaces was achieved, which can be open to the public regardless of the work of the exhibition halls. The “textile theme” is continued in the white concrete of the facades, which is also given a slightly folded texture, reminiscent of crumpled fabric.

The galleries are really limited only by the external, load-bearing walls: all the internal partitions can be moved depending on the intention of the curators. The theme of light, which has always been a key theme for Hall's creativity, has not been ignored in this case either: the overlapping curved along the profile reflects natural and artificial light, creating an optimal lighting system for the viewer and works.

Around the museum, a picturesque landscape of hills and reservoirs with an area of about 4 thousand m2 was created from a flat field that existed on this site. A garage and utility rooms are hidden under it.
