Depending on the tasks to be solved, the user can purchase a complete set or individual modules. As a platform for installing Plateia 2009, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map 3D are used. Using the AutoCAD platform allows you to easily create, edit and print data using familiar AutoCAD drawing preparation tools, as well as built-in Plateia functionality. The program interface is intuitive and allows even an inexperienced user to master the software product in a short time.

New opportunities

Plateia 2009 can be installed on a computer without uninstalling the previous version. This provides the ability to use both the existing and the new version of the program at the user's request. The license activation process is now carried out in such a way that the user can activate Plateia 2009 as well as all previously installed versions.

Files created while working with Plateia are saved in folders accessible to users with limited rights. Thus, users with limited rights can now use all the functions of Plateia.

Changes have been made to the network administration scheme. A copy of the password file required for Plateia authorization, generated on the server, is also written to a special protected folder on the client computer. This approach allows the administrator to always have at least one backup copy of the client password.

Changed the procedure for updating the list of available licenses and modules in the network version of Plateia. Now the user only has to click on the Refresh module list link in the License Manager to get all the necessary information about the available network licenses and modules.

Module "Terrain"

New functions for drawing embankments and cuts have been developed. Now, when the user changes the cut or fill boundaries, the hatching in the drawing changes automatically. Some changes have also been made to the hatch setting. The user has access to hatching functions in complex (including closed) geometric shapes, for example, when creating a three-dimensional slope site (Fig. 1).

The editing commands have been improved, allowing you to change the data of an existing hatch (hatch density, line length, shading of the hatch area, etc.). The hatch removal command removes all hatches in the drawing.

A new group of commands has appeared - Raster Manager. Using the command settings, you can easily change the display, stitch rasters using various methods based on the selection of points, cutting line, window or polygon.

Axis module

Plateia 2009 contains updated functionality for creating widening. The user can select two different anchor points. Widening can be snapped by coordinates and by station. The program calculates the normal from the anchor point to the axis and then uses it as the starting point for the broadening. The advantage of this snapping method is that the broadening will remain in the same position when you edit the axis elements.

Added functionality that allows you to use various combinations of broadening elements (arc - arc, parabola - parabola, arc - line - arc, parabola - line - parabola) and parameters (velocity, length, coordinates of the first and second control points). All extensions are automatically updated when editing the corresponding polyline (Fig. 2)

The requirements for calculating the broadening at bends with radii less than 1000 m have been taken into account. Now the broadening of the carriageway is carried out at the expense of the shoulder width. In addition, for roads with two or more lanes in the same direction, the broadening is calculated for each lane of the carriageway.

Improved automatic cut and fill function. The resulting hatching is similar to that performed in the Terrain module. A new feature has been added to this function that allows you to draw cut and fill boundary polylines. This feature also allows you to create hidden boundaries of an existing base surface. This is especially useful when creating a render model.

Improved labeling of cross slopes using the Cross Slope Values command from LS file. The marks of the same cross slope on the carriageway are now merged. You can also set the rotation of text labels about the axis (Fig. 3).

Added a new feature for editing visibility analysis. The user can change the parameters of an existing visibility analysis, and the field of view will be updated according to the new parameters (Figure 4).

Module "Longitudinal profiles"

The function of editing cross slopes and absolute / relative elevations provides the user with the ability to read the points of intersection of lines in a file with an IL extension. These points will be schematically displayed in a dialog box, and the user will be able to view the critical points in the cross-sections (Fig. 5).

The first two columns (Element and Station) now have a fixed position so that the data for the cross-sectional elements is visible to the user even when editing the rightmost lane.

Completely rewritten the Calculation of road edges command for marking the left and right edges of the road. Now it works much faster.

Cross Sections Module

Added new tools for managing generic cross sections. A tool for the selection of properties has been developed. With this function, you can copy specific elements from one cross section to another. The function of saving a typical cross-section from a drawing to a macro has also been added. The user just needs to select a cross section and a macro, and the section will be saved in this macro. The cross section can then be applied to other axes in the drawing or to other projects.

Scaling control has been added to the Cross Section Symbols Manager. Now, when you select an item in the tree of elements, the selected item takes on the scale specified in the dialog box.

Also added a function for selecting items. When you select any element of the standard cross-section in the drawing, this element is highlighted in the element tree (Fig. 6). Thus, the user can check the name of the cross section member.

Module "Transport"

The function of constructing tractris (mating curves) has been improved. The tractrix is now automatically updated when the element to which it is attached is moved.

New functions for creating and editing dividing islands have been introduced (Fig. 7). In addition, the updated dividing islands are dynamic. The island now automatically updates when you move the element to which it is attached. The construction of triangular regions has been significantly improved. Now you can customize the location of a triangular island along the corresponding drop-shaped island or track.

All basic connection elements are dynamic. Thus, if you change one of the intersecting axes or one of the edges of the road, all the corresponding connectors will be automatically updated.

Plateia 2009 updated the functions for creating bus stops. Bus stops can be drawn with straight lines or with curves (Figure 8). In previous versions, bus stops drawn with curves were composed of segmented polylines that were difficult to edit or scale. Several predefined sets of values are now available to the user. It is also possible to add custom sets. All values are stored in an XML file.

A bus stop can be attached to a specific block or a specific point on the road, it is dynamically rebuilt when editing an element, keeping the specified parameters.

The new version has new functions for inserting road signs. Traffic signs are installed on a post, several signs can be installed on one post. The inserted character can be snapped to the selected axis. The signs are set on a separate layer for each axis. Thus, you can turn on and off the display of signs for a specific axis. You can also specify a station and perpendicular distance to locate the road sign.

After placing the signs, a list is formed, which is dynamically linked to the objects in the drawing (Fig. 9). When you delete a road sign, the list is updated to the current state of road signs in the drawing. The character list is generated using an AutoCAD table.

New commands for copying and moving road signs have been introduced. Now you can select an already installed road sign and copy / move it to a new location.
