This large format series is designed specifically for large corporate and public sector units and 24/7 centralized print shops that require automated, high-quality large format printing. There are four models in the series: HP Designjet 4020, HP Designjet 4020 PS, HP Designjet 4520, and HP Designjet 4520 PS. The 4020 and 4520 models differ in the number of roll paper feed units, while the PS models have additional built-in processor capabilities for processing various files and controlling the printer.

The HP Double Swath Technology uses two rows of high yield HP printheads in staggered rows to ensure the speed and reliability of the HP Designjet 4020/4520 large format printers. This allows you to double the bandwidth per pass, increase the drop rate and print at speeds of up to 100 A1 pages per hour.
HP Double Swath technology prints 42 mm strips in a single head pass. There are 1,048 micro nozzles per color on the print head, the rate of fire of such a head is 36,000 drops per second from one nozzle. Powered by HP Double Swath technology, the HP DesignJet 4520 achieves very fast print speeds and low cost per page - for printing a standard 1sqm color drawing. only 0.17 ml of ink is required. (Measured based on AutoCAD S-03.dwg file printed in color in fast mode on HP Bright White Inkjet Paper. Actual ink usage will vary based on printing conditions.)
Fast printing is important, but not the only advantage of the devices in this series. Offline printing and acceleration of file processing became possible due to the increased internal resources of the model. The printer has a 160 GB hard disk and 608MB of RAM, which can be expanded up to 1120 MB. These resources and an embedded processor that supports HP-GL / 2, PDF, and PS (for PS model) ensure fast parallel imaging and printing. And what is very important, they allow you to offload your computer for other tasks. For printing large volumes of jobs in offline mode, a special paper feeder has been developed that allows you to load rolls up to 175 m long, and in the 4520 models it is possible to use two rolls of this length at the same time, and, if necessary, of different widths and textures. The machine will automatically select the correct paper type and roll width according to the jobs placed.
Large ink volumes of 775 ml for black and 400 ml for color with minimal ink consumption also allow you to use the printer for a long time without operator intervention. Large black cartridge prints 1,500 A0 pages without replacement. In fully autonomous mode, the printer can work up to 6 hours. High print resolution 2400/1200 dpi provides a minimum width of 0.02 mm and high line accuracy +/- 0.1%.
The HP Designjet 4020/4520 large format printers benefit from easy and reliable business integration with built-in Gigabit Ethernet and optional Jetdirect support for secure IPSEC and IPv6 communications (requires purchase of the HP Jetdirect 630n / 635n Print Server).

HP Instant Printing Utility 2.0 is a free Russian utility that makes available preview of files, their scaling and rotation, as well as support for DWF, JPG, TIFF formats.
