The construction of this checkpoint on the Turkish-Georgian border is part of the tourism development program in Georgia. Usually passport and customs control is carried out in barracks, often dilapidated structures, but the point in Sarpi looks like an expensive hotel.
Its volume faces the pebble beach. The tower-like part of the building is completed with an observation deck. In addition to the security checkpoints on the lower level, the checkpoint houses a cafe, staff quarters and a meeting room. Each of these areas has its own terrace.
