The station of the AVE rail network will be located above the existing tracks; there is also a parking space and a bus terminal underneath. Its important urban planning role is to serve as a link between the city's districts divided by the railway. Now it will be much easier to cross them: through the station building or along the squares and a large park also raised above the ground.
The lightweight ceiling of the building with a significant overhang will shade the "plaza" in front of it and the entrance to the park. The mirrored inner surface of this "visor" will reflect the sunlight into the interior of the station; in addition, natural light will be provided by glazed strips between the roof sections.
The facades of the building are glazed: this will visually "hide" it when looking from the city, and passengers will have the opportunity to admire the views of the city and mountains.
The new park will consist of a system of reservoirs and a regular grid of tracks, repeating the location of the railway tracks and neighboring streets.
