CSD, a leading value-added distributor in the dedicated CAD, GIS, visualization and animation markets, announces the launch of its SAM certification system.

Technology to optimize software investments by implementing regular license management procedures - Software Asset Management (SAM) - allows companies not only to save money, but also to put things in order in the licensing of the software used, and in the future to avoid chaos with the accumulated licenses.

The SAM methodology is based on the international standard ISO / IEC 19770-1: Processes, which currently consists of two parts: ISO / IEC 19770-1: SAM Processes and ISO / IEC 19770-2: SAM Tag.

Now CSD experts, conducting SAM-examination of the customer, not only implement the processes provided for by the standard, but also carry out their own certification, the result of which is the issuance of a certificate in the software asset management voluntary certification system (VTS SAM).

By obtaining SAM certification, the customer company recognizes the value of software management processes, including processes to prevent the use of unlicensed software.

The certificate is valid for one year from the date of receipt and has a lot of weight when checked by law enforcement agencies and software rightholders.

“A number of enterprises have implemented and are successfully operating such processes that, under no circumstances, do not allow the use of pirated software. The ISO 19770 certificate is just a confirmation of the implementation of such processes. Enterprises have improved software management to such an extent that they really get benefits by purchasing only what is really needed for the company's business processes, and not what employees ask for based on personal preferences,”says Igor Khlebnikov, head of SAM at CSD …
