In March, ROCKWOOL began selling stone wool solutions from a new plant in SEZ Alabuga ahead of schedule. Production started at the beginning of February. At present, all the necessary certificates have been received, ROCKWOOL products from the new plant are available to consumers.
“Sales of ROCKWOOL in Russia in 2011 grew by an impressive 45%. To meet the needs of our customers, we had to import large quantities of insulation from European factories. This increased the time frame and increased the cost of logistics services. With the commissioning of the ROCKWOOL plant with the world's most powerful stone wool production line, we plan to cover the main domestic demand at the expense of Russian production facilities,”comments Nick Vince, CEO of ROCKWOOL Russia Group.
The plant has a production line with a capacity of 110,000 tons per year and the most innovative technologies for the production of stone wool, which are in-house developed by ROCKWOOL. The unique equipment will make it possible to produce products that have no analogues on the Russian market.
And in February 2012, ROCKWOOL announced the opening of its own Design Center, which calculates and adapts projects in terms of achieving optimal building performance in terms of fire protection, heat and sound protection.
The main mission of the Rockwool Design Center is to promote energy efficiency. Based on the results of the calculations, customers will receive recommendations on how to make buildings more energy efficient, safe and comfortable.
Among the main advantages of the ROCKWOOL Design Center are the company's extensive international experience, experience of implemented Russian projects (for example, energy-efficient houses Green Balance, Natural Balance); the Center has its own highly qualified design engineers.
