The Knauf Days in Russia were a success
On the territory of the Knauf Gips plant in Krasnogorsk, in a large pavilion, an exposition of Knauf products and systems was arranged: moisture-resistant cement slabs AQUAPANEL, a wonderful “family” of Knauf sheets: Knauf-gypsum, Knauf-Akustika, Knauf-Fireboard, Knauf and other superpoly, which were presented together with complete Knauf fastening systems; systems of plaster facades and the possibilities of Knauf Gypsum plasters, KNAUF Insulation mineral wool thermal insulation, KNAUF Therm thermal insulation boards® divisions "KNAUF Penoplast". The use of materials could be seen right there on the models - installations on iconic construction sites from different countries.
Conferences and round tables with experts from the construction complex, creative meetings and discussions with leading foreign and Russian architects took place. Excursions were organized to the production workshops of the Knauf plant, where you could see how from ordinary natural materials (gypsum, cement, water and others), products are obtained for, we will not be afraid of these words, all construction projects in Russia and the CIS.
For two days of work, "Knauf Days" was attended by more than 2000 people. And every day Knauf technicians continuously gave master classes on the use of turnkey construction systems from numerous materials of the Knauf concern.
The queen was here AQUAPANEL: a huge panoramic photo of the Olympic Sochi with the Fisht and Iceberg stadiums occupied the left side of the pavilion, where a layout was integrated right into the facade of the Iceberg Winter Sports Palace complete system Exterior wall KNAUF AQUAPANEL on a frame made of thermoprofiles.
For the facades of the Fisht Olympic Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games will be held, KNAUF engineers have developed special technological solutions on the instructions of architects. Here, for the first time in Russia, systems are being installed at a sports facility of this level. Knauf Outside Wall with plates AQUAPANEL Outdoor cladding. And for the Iceberg Winter Sports Palace, solutions have been developed for facing columns with a high radius of curvature from environmentally friendly, shock-resistant and moisture-resistant slabs AQUAPANEL Internal.
Cement slab AQUAPANEL Outdoor is a rectangular sheet material consisting of a core based on fine-grained lightweight concrete, all planes of which, except for the end edges, are reinforced with glass mesh. The special shape of the longitudinal edge is reinforced with glass fibers. Thanks to the reinforcing fiberglass mesh, the AQUAPANEL Outside cement board can bend dry (without preliminary moistening) with a radius of curvature of up to one meter. This allows it to be used on curved surfaces.
AQUAPANEL Outdoor it is used when constructing non-bearing external frame-sheathing walls of element-by-element assembly on a steel frame with or without an air gap.
Besides AQUAPANEL Outdoor serves as the basis for various options for finishing the facade, including cladding with natural or artificial stone, can be used in the system of thermal insulation of plaster-type facades.
And so that no one already doubts the moisture-resistant properties of the plates AQUAPANEL - next to the demonstration of facade structures, a mini-pool was set up - a water area, the bizarre bends of which smoothly repeated the same slabs AQUAPANEL Outdoor, once again showing the possibilities of radius applications.
AQUAPANEL Indoor - also moisture resistant material and can be bent dry without preliminary moistening.
AQUAPANEL Indoor provides a solid and reliable base for tiling and is used in frame-sheathing structures - partitions, wall cladding and false ceilings in rooms with wet and wet operation: areas around swimming pools in the private and public sectors, kitchen decoration and areas where daily wet cleaning, showers, car washes, laundries, garages and basements.
Knauf manufactures a wide range of sheet products for solving various problems: these are standard rooms where we spend most of our lives, and use in a wet mode of operation, fire-resistant sheets for structures in rooms with fire safety requirements, Knauf arched sheet contributes to the implementation of design ideas, a large assortment of various types of perforation - design for the acoustic panel Knauf-acoustics.
Near the counter with numerous Knauf's "family" of sheets there were always many visitors, thirsty for knowledge, catalogs and flash drives with instructions on Knauf systems.
All types of produced edges and thicknesses could be seen on the stand. Different edges and thicknesses of KNAUf sheet products are also designed to perform certain functions, for example, improving the crack resistance of a seam or increasing the sound insulation or strength characteristics. And the obligatory master class on thermoprofiles or fasteners of "dry systems" Knauf.
They were immediately tested for strength, i.e. sound absorption, sheets Knauf-Acoustics … A jazz band was playing in a special cabin-house, but alas - you could not hear it outside the windows!
Opportunities Knauf plasters was shown by a "team" of technical specialists, masterly wielding spatulas. The beauty!
All types of Knauf putties were shown at the demonstration stands - Knauf's competence in sealing joints and obtaining a high-quality front surface. There are putties of various properties: Knauf-Uniflot, for example, allows you to seal the joint of Knauf sheets with a new PLUK edge without using a reinforcing tape. Knauf-Rotband paste is a ready-made polymer putty for obtaining a high-quality surface. Knauf-Multifinish M is a gypsum plaster applied using plastering machines.

The use of materials could be seen right there on the models - installations of construction projects from different countries. For example, in 2012, Knauf supplied more than 320 thousand square meters of AQUAPANEL slabs to Olympic construction sites alone, 7 million square meters of Knauf sheets (gypsum plasterboards), almost 6 million linear meters of Knauf metal profiles for complete systems, over 30 thousand tons of dry gypsum-based building mixes and almost 6.5 thousand tons of cement-based dry mixes.
And outside the walls of the exhibition pavilion, on the street, under the close supervision of firefighters, a demonstration fire show was organized. Sheets Knauf-Fireboard burn it with burners on both sides, and even doused it with flammable liquid and set it on fire. The liquid burned out, and the KNAUF-Fireboard sheets remained intact!
"Knauf Penoplast" just took it and put it on the block Geofoam (Knauf Geofom) machine, thus showing the load capacity of this material for the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels and transport infrastructure in general.
It is pleasant to realize that Knauf has arranged for everyone such a “technology holiday”, friendly and business communication, and invited the masters of architecture to give lectures. And also did an excellent job of organizing the entire forum as a whole!
