Erecting a new multi-storey hotel complex on the border with the park, the architects set themselves the task of at least doubling the “green potential” of the site. The creation of vertical gardens helped to achieve this: green oases are not only laid out around the hotel, but are also integrated into the building every four floors.
In the plan, the building is represented by the letter Ш, facing the park. And if the numbers themselves are grouped in "crossbeams" with a very suitable laconic geometry, then between them the architects implant platforms of deliberately curvilinear outlines. On these inserts, gardens with lush vegetation are located. In addition to lawns and flower beds, quite traditional for this genre, a variety of shrubs and trees are also planted here.
The ground floors of the complex also feature a generously landscaped permeable structure, set aside for commercial and public spaces. Thanks to this solution, the hotel becomes a kind of continuation of the park, as if raising it above the ground. According to the idea of WOHA, known for its "green" projects, the Parkroyal hotel-garden will bring the transformation of the stone jungle of the modern metropolis into a garden city one step closer.
