VVC / VDNKh

Lenta.ru spoke with the new director of the All-Russian Exhibition Center Vladimir Pogrebenko about how the complex will change. According to him, the preparation of the concept will take at least a year, and the work itself will take about seven years, as a result, VDNKh will turn into a multifunctional site. Pogrebenko claims that nothing will be demolished, except for dilapidated buildings that have no historical value, and the construction of new facilities will be local, thoughtful and careful. The Oceanarium, which is now being built on the site of the former greenhouses, will become the largest in Europe. It should be completed by the end of the year.

The first landscaping works are already in full swing. City rights activists report that this week workers with the help of a grinder and a crowbar dismantled the facades of pavilion 15 "Radioelectronics". As the Arkhnadzor activist Andrey Novichkov told Gazeta. Ru, the contractors could not present any documents for the work, which is not surprising: in order to obtain permission to dismantle the facade, you need to determine the subject of protection of the monument, discuss its fate with experts and agree with the architects … Meanwhile, the historical and cultural expertise has not yet been organized for the All-Russian Exhibition Center.

In this regard, the members of the DOCOMOMO-Russia Presidium circulated the text of an open letter to the Mayor of Moscow. The authors express their concern over the haste of the works begun on the pavilions of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition-VDNKh without "expert discussions, restoration concepts and historical and cultural expertise", and ask the mayor to involve experts in the architecture of the 20th century in the work. Last Friday, we published a wonderful text by Anna Bronovitskaya about the value of the facades of the 1960-1980s being dismantled now, which we recommend to read to everyone who is even slightly interested in the problem. Arkhnadzor calls for a broad discussion of the upcoming reconstruction and publishes a number of proposals for the preservation of the complex. "Big City" offers to follow the work on the complex through an interactive panorama.

Moscow City

The chief architect of Moscow, Sergei Kuznetsov, admits that tactical mistakes were made during the implementation of the "Moscow City", says the portal of the Archsovet of Moscow. The main omission was that the City was conceived as a complex that was supposed to work and gradually grow, but now even the constructed facilities are not fully used as part of the city. It is necessary first of all to complete the complex, as well as to make the area convenient for pedestrians. Navigation and orientation have not yet been created here, there is no relationship between the parking space and buildings, clear entrances and lobbies. All new buildings will be made permeable. The Federation Tower is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015; it will become the tallest building in Europe (373 meters in 95 floors).

At the same time, Sergei Kuznetsov admits that the Moscow City is the first noticeable step towards the development of a polycentric model of the capital. According to him, the "old" city center should become more extensive and complex in its structure. It is planned to "stretch" it in the shape of a triangle towards two new urban development centers - City and ZIL. The development of the latter will be carried out by the development company LSR Group. On three land plots with a total area of about 65 hectares, she will have to build capital construction facilities of 1.5 million square meters by the end of 2022. m, writes RBC.

Acting Director of the Research and Development Institute of the General Plan Karim Nigmatulina assures that the concept of development of the Big City territory will be ready at the end of summer, RIA Novosti reports. The Dozhd TV channel talked with Karima in more detail about the City, ZIL and Khodynskoye Pole.

Echoes of Sochi

Vedomosti publishes a long article, the authors of which are trying to find the reasons for the crisis in the construction industry in Russia. The Olympics revealed the shortcomings of the system, one after another the creators of infrastructure in Sochi and Moscow are being ruined. According to experts, the main problem is that during construction the cost of objects grows several times, but the state customer rarely compensates for this, demanding to execute the contract at a fixed contractual price. The main reason for the rise in prices is poorly calculated projects. The pricing system is also imperfect: the current prices are based on the 1984 standards. The design documentation, which was played out in Sochi, was not worked out, and the examination of the projects took place almost in an emergency, so the cost of construction was radically different from the initial one. Three bankrupt companies are just the beginning, a wave of new bankruptcies is yet to come, experts say.

Vertical zoning

The Moscow Archcouncil portal continues to talk about ways to get rid of cars in the courtyards. This time we are talking about vertical zoning, in which people and cars coexist on different tiers. The following projects are considered in which this approach is implemented: Chertanovo Severnoye microdistrict, which began to be built in 1975; residential complex "Solar System" (Maxim Atayants for Urban Group in the city district of Khimki); competition project of townhouses "Technopark" in the innovation city "Skolkovo" (bureau "Atrium"); residential complex "Garden Quarters", which was designed for the group of companies "Inteko" by seven Russian architects, headed by Sergei Skuratov.

Space and power

"Kommersant" publishes an essay by Grigory Revzin about "space" architecture, which has become our everyday life. Today, an ideal home strives to be like a space station, where a new module is created for each new function, and the interior is like a spacesuit, to which the inlet and outlet channels are connected, which provides complete comfort. The problem, according to the critic, is that now everything connected with the Earth has flown into space. And to see this, "you need to teleport for the devil knows how many megaparsecs, and maybe you will be lucky there." Today Polit.ru published a video of Revzin's lecture "Architecture in Power", which was recently held at the project site.
