According to him, the preparation of the concept will take at least a year, and the work itself will take about seven years, as a result, VDNKh will turn into a multifunctional site. Pogrebenko claims that nothing will be demolished, except for dilapidated buildings that have no historical value, and the construction of new facilities will be local, thoughtful and careful. The Oceanarium, which is now being built on the site of the former greenhouses, will become the largest in Europe. It should be completed by the end of the year.
The first landscaping works are already in full swing. City rights activists report that this week workers with the help of a grinder and a crowbar dismantled the facades of pavilion 15 "Radioelectronics". The chief architect of Moscow, Sergei Kuznetsov, admits that tactical mistakes were made during the implementation of the "Moscow City", says the portal of the Archsovet of Moscow. The main omission was that the City was conceived as a complex that was supposed to work and gradually grow, but now even the constructed facilities are not fully used as part of the city. It is necessary first of all to complete the complex, as well as to make the area convenient for pedestrians. Navigation and orientation have not yet been created here, there is no relationship between the parking space and buildings, clear entrances and lobbies. All new buildings will be made permeable. The Federation Tower is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015; it will become the tallest building in Europe (373 meters in 95 floors).
At the same time, Sergei Kuznetsov admits that the Moscow City is the first noticeable step towards the development of a polycentric model of the capital. According to him, the "old" city center should become more extensive and complex in its structure. It is planned to "stretch" it in the shape of a triangle towards two new urban development centers - City and ZIL. The development of the latter will be carried out by the development company LSR Group. On three land plots with a total area of about 65 hectares, she will have to build capital construction facilities of 1.5 million square meters by the end of 2022. m, writes RBC.
