Traditionally, the company has specialized in furniture for hotels, cafes, bars and restaurants. Now SLIDE Srl plans to launch a new product line, focusing on home accessories.

The object to be developed by the contestants must comply with the company's policy: be made of polyethylene, have smooth, laconic forms and an ironic design. However, it must be a new item, which is not yet in the catalogs of SLIDE Srl (which is why the organizers ask you to refrain from designing chairs, tables, stools and table lamps).

The creation of this line will improve transport services for residents of the western sector of Moscow and reduce the load on a number of existing metro lines.

The aim of the competition is to create architectural and artistic concepts for the interiors of two stations under construction in the south-west of the capital: Solntsevo and Novoperedelkino. Projects should be modern and minimalistic, but at the same time bright and memorable, with an emphasis on light and color solutions, a combination of materials.

Shelter 2014 - international student competition

When we say “shelter”, the image of a bunker or dugout immediately pops up in our head, in a word, some space where we could hide from enemies or natural disasters. Here we feel a sense of physical security, but staying in such spaces for too long causes psychological discomfort.

The contestants will have to think about what the “shelter” of the future might be? What can it protect people from, what will be its design, size and location? Designs must challenge the conventional wisdom of this type of building.
