The construction of a new Russian spaceport "Vostochny" is underway in the Far East in the Amur Region, near the village of Uglegorsk. The decision to build such a large-scale and significant facility for the country was made in 2007 in accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation. The cosmodrome project was approved in 2011, and a year later a huge team of specialists under the leadership of the Russian Spetsstroy started to implement a grandiose plan.
The place for the design was not chosen by chance: the relative proximity of the Amur land to the equator and the coast was played, which is the best option for putting satellites into a sun-synchronous orbit. It is also important that in 1996 in this area, not far from Uglegorsk, the Svobodny test cosmodrome was created and successfully operated. Ten years later, it was disbanded, but some infrastructure facilities remained, which can be used for the needs of the new Russian cosmodrome, the total area of which will be more than 1000 km².
On this vast territory today, the construction of ten technical and support sites is being actively completed, a launch complex for a launch vehicle with increased payload capacity has been erected, an airfield, hydrogen and oxygen-nitrogen plants have been implemented, a complex power supply system has been created, 125 km of railways have been built, 115 km of highways have been built. And this is not to mention warehouses for building materials, hangars for motor vehicles, a separate building for a fire station, production workshops, an outpatient clinic, a building for test products, etc. Today, most of the facilities have already been commissioned, equipment is being installed. The administrative and social infrastructure, as well as the residential area for the cosmodrome personnel, have been moved out of its limits - to the Uglegorsk region. The creation of facilities associated with the "Vostochny" is being carried out outside the Amur Region.

The technology of this system is quite simple: a TechnoNICOL vapor barrier for a flat roof is laid on the supporting base made of profiled sheet, which protects the insulation from moisture. Insulation materials based on basalt fibers TECHNOROOF N30 and TECHNOROOF V60, which are non-combustible materials, are used as an insulating layer, which is especially important for objects of this kind and, in general, for installing a roof on large public buildings. TECHNOROOF N30 is used as a bottom layer, TECHNOROOF B60 thermal insulation is used as a top layer that distributes the external load to the bottom layer of insulation. Thermal insulation and waterproofing carpet are attached to the base using TechnoNICOL telescopic fasteners.
In addition to all other advantages, it is worth noting the high installation speed, the low weight of the roofing cake, the high reliability of the welded seams and the use of the system without space restrictions.
Roof waterproofing at the cosmodrome facilities is performed using LOGICROOF polymer membranes, which are mounted directly on the thermal insulation layer. Profiled membranes are high-density polyethylene sheets with molded round protrusions with a height of 8 to 20 mm, evenly distributed over the entire surface. TechnoNICOL Corporation recently launched the production of PLANTER profiled membranes - an innovative material that is actively used today for the comprehensive protection of waterproofing of structural parts of buildings and structures. Even before getting on the roofs of strategically important facilities of Vostochny, profiled membranes were successfully used as preparation for slab foundation in more than 20 agro-industrial complexes, transport and logistics terminals, warehouses and shopping centers. The peculiarity of the material lies in the increased width of the membranes, reaching four meters, which is extremely important for industrial facilities of large areas. This roll width allows not only to increase the speed of installation of the construction system at the facility, but also to minimize the number of seams, and, accordingly, the risk of leakage. The potential service life of the membranes is over 50 years.
The completion of the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome is scheduled for next year, the first launch of the launch vehicle is planned at the end of 2015, and the first launch of a manned spacecraft is scheduled for 2018.
