The competition for the project of the improvement of Borovitskaya Square has ended, where a monument to Prince Vladimir is planned to be erected in November. About 20 architects took part, projects got to the final:

- Wall,
- AI Architects,
- Kleinewelt Architekten.
The winner was AI Architects. In accordance with UNESCO's remarks, the task of the participants was not only to propose a concept for the complex improvement of the territory, but also to reduce the height of the monument, which will now be 16 meters instead of the previous 25.

The chief architect of Moscow, Sergei Kuznetsov, commented on the winners' project as follows: “Borovitskaya Square is one of the key improvement projects in the city, which is being initiated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. And the concept that we presented to UNESCO concerned not only this place, but was in conjunction with other projects for the improvement of the Boulevard Ring. Particular attention was paid to the terrain, species characteristics, underground communications. The winner was able to fully take this into account. An interesting idea was proposed: we see a drop, which, as if falling into water, diverges in circles. An association with the ritual of Baptism is created. " On the net, the winning project has already been called a "gramophone record."
