EXPO-2017 Astana is an international specialized exhibition that takes place in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana from June 10 to September 10, 2017. The theme of the exhibition is "Energy of the Future". The architectural symbol of the exhibition complex is the largest spherical building in the world - "Nur-Alem", which has a diameter of 80 meters and a height of 100 meters. The area of the sphere is 8 thousand square meters. m. On each of the eight floors of the building, different types of "green" energy are presented. The theme of the exhibition determined the choice of environmentally friendly and durable materials for thermal insulation of a building with complex architecture.

The pavilion of Kazakhstan is located on the 1st floor of the building, where visitors will get acquainted with the cultural traditions and sights, as well as the latest achievements of Kazakhstan. The Museum of the Future occupies six floors of the sphere. Digital, multimedia and interactive technologies will expand the possibilities of perception of the exhibition space, where the main types of energy are demonstrated - space, sun, biomass, wind, water and kinetics. "Nur-Alem" has not only a bright and memorable appearance, it is also reliably protected from external factors. When selecting materials for the construction of the pavilion, first of all, such qualities as safety and environmental friendliness were taken into account, but also the potential for energy efficiency.

To ensure reliable insulation of the building and eliminate the possibility of heat loss, roof slabs made of ROCKWOOL ROOF BATTS SCREED stone wool were installed. They are used as a heat-insulating layer in roofs with a protective coating made of concrete, reinforced-cement, cement-sand and other slabs. The material is distinguished by high resistance to mechanical stress, the ability to maintain its properties in a wide temperature range and a long service life. Low coefficient of thermal conductivity allows you to create maximum protection against heat loss. Effective thermal insulation will help ensure a stable indoor temperature during both winter cold and summer heat.

The material also helps to improve the fire safety of the building. A significant advantage of the selected solutions is that ROCKWOOL stone wool fibers withstand temperatures up to 10,000C and create a reliable barrier to the spread of fire.

About 100 countries of the world and about 10 international organizations take part in the international exhibition EXPO-2017 Astana. The topic "Energy of the Future" will attract the world's best energy saving technologies, new developments and technologies for using existing alternative energy sources, such as the energy of the sun, wind, sea, oceanic and thermal waters. After the world exhibition, the Nur-Alem pavilion will become a kind of innovation hub and an important research and cultural center.
