The new building, built in the center of the city of Venisia, with an area of 800 square meters, welcomed its students and teachers. The project, which is surrounded by greenery and using natural materials - including wood and titanium-zinc - reflects important characteristics for any architectural style: respect for the environment, sustainability, aesthetics and functionality of the building.

Architect Denis Gillett, who works with the city planning department of Venisia, drew attention to the aspects of the “interaction” of the building with the vegetation environment. “The idea was to take advantage of the time children spend in this place and make it attractive. We also wanted to differentiate this place from other standard urban areas, maintaining the volume of existing green space and gradually increasing it,”says the architect. Thus, already at the concept stage, the architect carefully selected the shape of the building and the materials that were used in the project.

“From the very beginning, I imagined the shape of the building corresponding to the silhouettes of the trees. The dining room building differs from the hackneyed architecture of this type of project and offers an original shape using the length of the non-parallel walls. The curvature of the overlap also emphasizes the entrance zones - the canteen has one entrance for students and a separate entrance for catering staff,”explains the architect.

“As for the exterior cladding of the building, we had no doubts. The choice of the natural blue-gray RHEINZINK patina was the best way to solve the architectural and aesthetic problem,”says architect Denis Gillet. “Thanks to the choice of titanium-zinc, we got the appropriate surface appearance, aesthetics and durability of the building. The use of RHEINZINK titanium-zinc and its ductility also helped to realize curved shapes, including the critical transition from roof to façade."
