At the end of December, next to the White Dacha in Kotelniki, an art object was mounted, created as a sign for the exhibition of country houses "Low-rise country". It appeared as a result of the "Sign" competition, organized on the platform of the workshop on modern wooden architecture "Drevolution". Aspiring architects and designers were faced with the task of designing an “art-sign” made of wood that would reflect the idea of the exhibition and indicate its location. The workshop curator, architect Nikolay Belousov, highly appreciated the level of ideas proposed by the participants. The project for implementation was selected from 15 works. According to the jury, the concept of Yegor Egorychev, Ekaterina Retinskaya and Evgenia Stakhanova became the best meeting all the tasks set.

The authors explain their idea as follows: “After a hard day's work, a tired city dweller drives through traffic jams to a sleeping area of Moscow to get into his concrete hole. Suddenly, his gaze catches on a glowing object in the air. Approaching, a person gradually discerns the contours of a one-story house and sees that it is a tower of modules-houses. Modules are just a frame without walls. The light is on in one "house" on the penultimate tier. This is a symbol of the dream of your own home, the dream of breaking out of an apartment box and building your own bright, cozy home in a comfortable one-storey environment."

The purpose of the Drevolyutsii contests is to provide young authors with the opportunity to go through all the stages of development and implementation of a project for a real customer. For three years more than 100 people have passed through the "pre-revolutionary" school. Most of the objects, despite the fact that they were originally created as temporary, are still on display in the Tavrichesky Garden, Uppsala Park, the park of the Forestry Academy in St. Petersburg and in Sukhanovo. You can learn more about the workshop on its website.
