© Mustafa Nader The competition is dedicated to the problem of the loss of historic buildings in Baghdad. A large number of valuable buildings have been destroyed or abandoned since 2003. Participants will develop concepts for transforming the urban area of Al-Rusafa into a design center. The challenge is to breathe new life into this valuable historic area and at the same time give impetus to the development of modern Iraqi art.

Bridge across the English Channel

"Forest to Heaven" - skyscraper competition

"Destruction" of patent rights at the Venice Biennale
© Amazon Industries, Inc The competition, held as part of the Netherlands Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale, is designed to highlight the potential threat posed by Amazon's vigorous patent filing efforts (nearly 6,000 patents over 8 years). Patented ideas cover the areas of automation, architecture, industrial design and many others. Many of them can affect professional activities in these areas, devalue the role of specialists. The task of the participants is to present ideas for preventing the widespread “reign” of Amazon technologies and, on the contrary, for their effective application in the architecture and other industries.

The structure should be made of ceramic parts of a small format (24x12x3 cm), connected with plaster, lime, earth or any other material.
