This luxurious building, located in the heart of the main botanical garden in Cologne, has delighted the eyes of visitors for several years. Built about 150 years ago, "Flora" has undergone many tests of time. Even before the destruction associated with the Second World War, its straight gable roof was covered with tiles, but due to various reconstructions and extensions without the supervision of the preservation services and numerous financial problems of the subsequent owners, it was decided to close the building.

And so, five years ago, the project for the revival of this place was completed according to the plans of 1860, when this territory was created as a recreation area for the inhabitants of Cologne. Its development was carried out in accordance with the so-called "mixed German style". This is the design of gardens and buildings as a single image, in the spirit of the then ultra-modern historicism. The arched roofs, made using the double and corner standing seam technique, fit perfectly into the context of the place. It is no coincidence that the normally rolled titanium-zinc RHEINZINK-CLASSIC was chosen, which lives with the building, covered with the patina of centuries, and emphasizes its historicism in the best way.

However, work to revive Flora did not go smoothly. Various dissatisfaction of the customer with the ongoing work led to the fact that in the fall of 2013 a new general contractor was selected. The roofing subcontractor was faced with a difficult task: to complete a technically complex roof in 100 days. Highly qualified roofers, masters of their craft, did everything to ensure that at the beginning of June 2014, Flora opened its doors to visitors. For the roof, with a total area of 1600 m², 14 tons of RHEINZINK-CLASSIC custom-rolled titanium-zinc were used in the double and corner standing seam technique.
