In the concept developed by TPO "Reserve", much attention was paid not only to the auditoriums, but also to the space of the three-light foyer, separated from the square in front of the building only by a membrane of panoramic glazing.

The laconic facade hides the complex plasticity of the interior, built on a sequence of interconnected spaces that flow into each other. Stepped overhanging tiers, staircases "flowing" downward, ramps "stitching" the space and emphasizing the horizontal direction of movement along the facades. White is a classic of modernism, spiced with warm accents of wood, mirrored inserts, linear and spot lighting.

The foyer is interpreted as an intermediate space, a layer between the street and the core of the building - the auditorium. The ribbons of the parapets are well visible from the outside during the day, while at night, brightly illuminated and visible as in a shop window, they become part of the urban space.

When creating the interior, great attention was paid to the finishing material, which, in addition to aesthetic properties, had to meet a number of requirements that took into account the social nature of the space, such as fire and wear resistance, ease of maintenance and further operation. Therefore, for facing the surfaces of balconies, stair railings, the architects chose the composite material HI-MACS®, which made it possible to transfer the concept of the TVO "Reserve" into reality with amazing accuracy, so that it is even difficult to find differences from project visualizations. (Initially, the project planned to use a different composite material, which had to be abandoned for fire safety reasons in favor of HI-MACS®, having a certificate of compliance with fire resistance KM-1).

The total surface area created with HI-MACS is also impressive - a total of about 6,000 m22.

The name of the material is an abbreviation that stands for High Marble of ART for Customer Satisfaction - "high art of stone at the request of the customer", which actually reveals the possibilities of artificial stone resistant to physical and chemical influences, products from which are made according to an individual project.

At the heart of the HI-MACS stone® lies methyl methacrylate, which is widely used not only in construction - primarily for covering walls and ceilings, but also in medicine: in dental fillings and artificial crystals of the eye. Additional hardness is provided by aluminum hydroxide, which acts as a reinforcing agent. This non-porous material is easy to care for - it is easy to wash it and scratches can also be easily removed by polishing, so it is popular not only as a finishing material - it is also used to create furniture, and the Zaryadye Concert Hall was no exception in this sense. From HI-MACS® here were made the bar counters of two cafes on the balcony of the second tier and countertops in the toilet rooms. In addition, the railings of the stairs, "flowing" to the floor of the first floor, make a spectacular turn and turn into benches - this is one of the bright, "eye-catching" methods for solving the interior of the foyer.

One of the main requirements for the material was the ability to create seamless surfaces of a large area, including curved ones. Due to its special properties, HI-MACS® often used to create objects designed using parametric modeling. It is widely used in the Guangzhou Opera House, designed by Zaha Hadid, where there are practically no straight lines. In contrast to the "fluid" architecture of Hadid, the main characteristic of the interior, designed by the architects of TPO "Reserve", is the continuity of horizontals strictly parallel to the floor surface, which is provided by the seamless covering with artificial stone HI-MACS®.

During 3D modeling, the object is divided into separate constituent elements, for each of which its own mold is created from MDF. Unlike competitors, the process of creating HI-MACS objects® based not on chemical reactions, but on thermoforming, which affects the speed of production.

Base sheets having an area of 3.68 by 0.76 m and a thickness of 12 mm are cut to shape and pressed under high temperature. After vacuum pressing, the parts are joined together with a special glue, which provides a "seamless" connection. The continuity of the lines of extended parapets of balconies and stair railings flowing into each other, the graphics of the lamellas hiding the ventilation system, the finishing of the thin columns of the second tier are the result of precise modeling and flawless production.

In addition to curved railings, 3D molding has been used to create a grooved finish for the cashier area, continuing the theme of the wood ribbed surface of adjacent wardrobe walls.

HI-MACS Sheets®, made in South Korea, were professionally processed in Moscow at the factory of the "ArtKor" company and mounted on site on a metal frame. In the event of a production error, the material allows on-site rework and trimming and grinding. The ease of use of the adhesive for a seamless connection also simplifies the installation task.

If necessary, especially for facade work, where it is important to lay damping seams, groove joints are created, which ensure safe shrinkage of the material.

Installation of panels on the subsystem is carried out either with a pick or with glue, depending on the future load. The panels themselves are quite light - only 20 kg per square meter.

Translucency HI-MACS® became another determining factor in the choice of material for the interiors of the foyer: light plays an important role in the space of the foyer, creating a vertical rhythm in the interior, where the horizontal dominates: during the day, shadows from the frames of windows and columns draw thin lines on the snow-white planes, and in the evening the surfaces come to life light lines on balconies railings and illumination of stepped ceilings. In the HI-MACS line® there are two types of "stone" - LUCENT and SOLID with different translucency.

The design of the built-in lighting - in Zaryadye, these are vertical strokes on the surface of the balconies - is created by milling the slab from the back side to half its depth, and the material's capabilities allow you to create both a blurred pattern and shapes with clear contours. To do this, you just need to choose a method for processing the edges of the internal relief, and the depth of the relief determines the intensity of the material glow. Various colors of the LEDs built into the structure and the use of dimmers allow varying lighting effects.

From the wide range of colors provided by HI-MACS®, which has several shades of white, Diamond White S034 was chosen. Artificial stone of black shade Black S-022 is used in the decoration of the wardrobe.

HI-MACS Artificial Stone Capabilities® significantly expand the field of application of 3D modeling in architecture and open up new horizons for the design of both interiors and facades. A wide range of spheres of using this material in the Zaryadye Concert Hall allows one to be convinced of this with one's own eyes.
