The developer of the building with 169 apartments was Oscar Properties, which at the same time with 79 & PARK solemnly opened its other project, Norra Tornen bureau OMA (see the text of Archi.ru about it). Unlike the construction of the Rotterdam architects, the Bjarke Ingels residential complex is located in an almost natural environment - next to a large park in the Gerdet area. Here, a technique typical of BIG is applied: at the building bordering the courtyard, one corner is raised, the opposite is lowered, the other two are in the middle position.
The 35-meter part of the building is farthest from the park, but the apartments there also got a view of this green area and the harbor of Freehamn due to the higher number of storeys. The lowest, 7-meter corner softens the boundary between the park and the building. The rest of the corners in height correspond to the buildings adjacent to 79 & PARK.
The building is made up of 3.6m by 3.6m modules that shape its hillside-like silhouette and provide residents with private and public green terraces. Almost all apartments have individual layouts.
The facades are decorated with coniferous wood. The courtyard divided into a "plateau" has a kindergarten, a daytime center for dogs, parking for bicycles, and a green area.
