At the end of November, the Varvara cafe, located in a reserved corner of old Moscow, hosted an event with the intriguing name “Your own designer” - a business breakfast organized by the Building Expert Publishing House with the support and active participation of the German company SIEGENIA Gruppe. Famous metropolitan interior designers, journalists from specialized media, representatives and partners of SIEGENIA gathered for breakfast at the hospitable and hospitable "Varvara".

The breakfast theme announced by the organizers initiated a conversation about what a living interior designed by a designer for himself should be like, without any restrictions related to the area of the room, the customer's preferences, the allocated budget, etc. In fact, each of the guests could tell what an ideal residential interior is in his understanding, and everyone who came to breakfast took advantage of this opportunity.

Natalia Maksimova, the owner of the cafe, talked about how the idea of its creation was born, how relations developed with the author of the interior project, the designer Anastasia Kasparyan:

- I wanted to get an institution with a Russian flavor, which would be felt in everything: in the author's cuisine, interior, manner of serving guests. Moreover, there should have been no direct quotations in the form of "Gzhel" or "Khokhloma". The cafe was seen as modern, technological, but Russian in spirit. It is very important that Anastasia, using national ethnic motives, did not copy them, but created something of her own, completely new.

When designing the interior of "Varvara" it was necessary to take into account a number of restrictions associated with the budget, the timing of the project, a well-defined range of tasks that had to be solved. Nevertheless, everything turned out as planned, because the customer met a like-minded designer and partner, and this is the main guarantee of success.

Anastasia Kasparyan (Bureau of Architecture

"Golden Heads"):

- I think that at this facility I was lucky with the customer. We talked all the time "on the same wavelength."

There are two approaches to design. First, the designer firmly defends his point of view before the customer and tries to realize his own ambitions. In this case, he is part of the project.

The second way is to see the project as if from the outside, comprehensively, systematically. Then there are points of contact with the customer, opportunities open up for the development of compromise solutions, the correctness of which is subsequently confirmed by life.

As you know, in any interior project, the materials, technologies, engineering and interior equipment included in it are of paramount importance. The success of the implementation of the design solution and how the interior will coexist with the people for whom it was created directly depends on these factors. I dedicated my speech to this topic. Roman Piskarev, Director of Training and Technical Services of the SIEGENIA Gruppe. He spoke about how the products produced by this well-known manufacturer of interior equipment can attract the attention of designers and architects:

- SIEGENIA has been developing and manufacturing window fittings since the end of the 19th century. Currently, the company, along with window fittings, produces various translucent structures, control systems, ventilation, etc. A prominent place in the company's assortment is occupied by fittings for large-format translucent structures with heavy doors designed for multi-chamber double-glazed windows.

The company also manufactures fittings for large-format sliding structures, united by the Portal series. Portal systems are produced in various versions - with one or several sashes, with a warm profile, a barrier-free threshold, etc.

An important addition to the SIEGENIA assortment are ventilation devices equipped with an air purification filter.

Ksenia Makarova (Bureau of Architecture

HAAST) spoke about its own criteria for assessing the quality of the interior:

- The interior should be comfortable and proportionate to the person, this is the main thing. Proportionality is most often understood as the area of a house or apartment sufficient for all family members. Moreover, the area may vary depending on the composition of the family. If we talk about the nomenclature of interior zones, then the bedroom is quite enough for me, in which, in addition to the bed, there must be an operating power source, in other words, an outlet.

This theme was continued in their speeches by other participants of the business breakfast.

Anna Vysokikh (design studio "Floor lamp"):

- I consider an absolutely white interior comfortable for myself, where my eyes rest after a hard day's work. In general, the most important thing in an interior is a person. In order to design the correct, high-quality interior for a particular person, you need to “live” his whole life.

Nadezhda Petrosyan, head of our own design studio:

- The ideal interior should be based on three components: the customer, the interior space and the designer. If these components form a harmonious system, if a relationship of trust develops between the designer and the customer, then a good interior will turn out. When the designer himself acts as a customer, designing an interior for himself, he is faced with the most difficult task.

Maria Lazic (design studio Mary-art):

- Once a customer approached me, who had a huge country house. But in my portfolio there were no interiors with an area of more than 300 m². I had to part with this customer, but I gave myself my word to design a large residential interior, even if this project goes “on the table”. The result was an imaginary interior "for myself", the work on which did not imply any restrictions and was completely devoted to my family. I hope that someday this project will be implemented.

Anastasia Tsyplakova (design studio "Design Point"):

- I completely agree with those who think that the most difficult thing is to design an interior for yourself. A designer, unlike a third-party customer, knows and understands interior styles and style directions, many of which he wants to see in his home, but this is not a solvable task.

In general, the mixing of styles in the interior is one of the leading modern trends. Many customers, even unconsciously, strive to see eclectic diversity in their interior surroundings. Perhaps this is due to the fact that Russians today have the opportunity to travel the world and from their trips they bring impressions of a wide variety of cultural traditions. Another thing is how to mix several styles "try on yourself" …

Sergey Izvolsky (design bureau ARTUP BUREAU):

- It is very difficult for a designer or architect to equip their own home. I live outside the city and constantly rebuild and redo something, and this process seems endless. It is much easier to deal with one third-party customer, with whom you can agree on everything once and understand what he wants.

A house or apartment is an extension of a person. To find a way to effectively interact with a customer, you need to reveal and understand his human nature. To do this, you need to know the laws of psychology, sociology and even Chinese astrology.

Polina Agafonova (design studio "Design Point"):

- Communication with the customer is an integral part of the work of a designer or architect. The author of an interior project must be able to find a common language with the customer, even through concessions.

A well-designed interior is always distinguished by its functionality. Here, the logistics of the space-planning scheme, how the movement of people in the house is organized, visual communications, the accessibility and ease of hygienic maintenance of furniture and other furnishings come out on top. The interior should serve a person, "be able" to obey various life situations that arise in the owner's family.

Maria Malitskaya, editor-in-chief of the information portal Architime:

- In addition to editorial work, I am engaged in interior design. I believe that a designer, on the one hand, must adhere to his own line, and on the other, heed the opinion of the customer. At the level of my own taste preferences, I love white interiors with large glazing areas. At the same time, today it is very difficult to keep the style clean, since eclecticism is increasingly dominating. Nevertheless, I prefer minimalism, where there is a lot of light, open spaces and little detail.

Victoria Pashinskaya (design studio PV design studio):

- The most important thing in the interior is its functional content. I cannot imagine an inhabited space for myself without the proximity of a developed transport and household infrastructure. The view from the window is important. As for the stylistic solution of the interior, it should reflect modernity, which does not exclude the presence of classic elements.

Ekaterina Voevoda (design bureau Sundukovy Sisters):

- We try to design public interiors, because we see in them more freedom for creativity and self-realization. Private living spaces are constrained by the taste preferences of customers, the need to follow their opinion and choice. For myself, I prefer Scandinavian minimalism.

Ekaterina Doronina (communication agency Gemmini Communications) summarized the designers' statements at the business breakfast:

- Being an urbanist by nature, I would prefer to live in Moscow, but in a low-rise building. In terms of stylistics, I see for myself the most acceptable minimalist interior environment.

When organizing the interior, I put ergonomics at the fore. Sections of this science allow us to carry out the most profound and comprehensive analysis of a specific person with a clear linking of personal data to the room and its subject matter. It is ergonomics that allows making the interior not only functional, but also friendly towards people, giving the room the meaning of visible and tangible value in the eyes of the consumer.

Elena Sycheva, Marketing Director of the Archi.ru information portal:

- SIEGENIA fittings are installed on the windows in my house. Works extremely reliably. I believe that windows with such fittings are the pinnacle of functionalism.

Half of the success in architectural and design activities is the availability of quality materials and products for construction and decoration on the market. The second part of success is their correct application, which largely depends on the designers. The past business breakfast left no doubt about the excellent quality of SIEGENIA products and the high level of professionalism of those who are engaged in interior design in our country.

So, the first business breakfast for architects and designers took place with the participation of SIEGENIA Gruppe and partners - the companies "Window Factory" and "Window Continent". In the near future, the practice of holding such events will continue at that, not only in Moscow, but in other cities of Russia.

SIEGENIA company has been present on the Russian market since 1997The assortment of the company is formed taking into account the most important world trends in the field of architecture and construction, as well as taking into account the climatic features of Russia.

The company produces a new generation of window fittings for large and heavy sashes. With such fittings, the swing-out window sash width can reach almost 2 m, in height - 3 m, with a weight of up to 200 kg. For a pivot window, the permissible sash weight is up to 300 kg. This means that with such fittings, you can use any double-glazed windows, including warm multi-chamber ones.

The company also manufactures fittings for large-format sliding structures belonging to the Portal series. In the field of low-rise construction, such structures make it possible to bring the surrounding landscape closer to the room.

Portal systems are available with a sash width of up to 3 m, a height of up to 2.7 m and a weight of up to 400 kg. Structures can be made of plastic, wood, aluminum and have several doors.
