Fiber cement panels from the EQUITONE [natura] series are often chosen for new buildings in the historical part of the city: they are made only from natural materials, painted in bulk, and a smooth and matte surface with a thin but clearly distinguishable texture goes well with wood, brick, metal and glass. The material helps to bring the building into context and resonate with the spirit of the place.

The Chmielna Park apartment complex in Gdańsk is a good example of this. It is located on the Granary Island in the central part of the city. Once there were only warehouses and granaries, from which after the Second World War there were ruins. The island existed in a dilapidated form until recently, when investors finally appeared and the city began to actively develop the old industrial area - now hotels, offices and administrative buildings are being built here, as a rule, they are all stylized as historical warehouse buildings.

Chmielna Park was designed by the local bureau DOMUS Studio Projektowe Sieniawski & Sieniawski. The complex at the green coast of Motława consists of several five-storey buildings: they house apartments, the facades are faced with the characteristic red brick, and the stylized "battlements", terraces and balconies - with EQUITONE [natura] N073 dark graphite fiber cement panels.

The buildings are united by a nine-storey office tower, hovering on V-shaped pillars, in front of which a small cobbled square is formed from the street side. The tower is connected with the apartments not only by the location, but also by the material - its "sides" are made of the same large-format EQUITONE panels, only laid vertically.

In the complex, therefore, there are several textures: brick, glass, concrete and fiber cement - and it is the latter that helps to make a harmonious transition from traditional materials to more modern ones, as well as to accentuate plastic elements - balconies, terraces and gable mansards.
