FTA Group architects were involved in a comprehensive renovation of a 1980s textile factory, including the design of a name, logo and signage for a new "office park" in Shanghai's Yangpu district near the banks of the Huangpu River. Corduroy Alley (“corduroy alley”) on an area of 14,000 m2 accommodated a variety of institutions, including architecture and design offices, a photography studio, a fitness center, a studio for an Internet broadcaster. The investment paid off within a year and a half, according to the FTA.
The goal of the FTA Group was to turn the territory of the factory not only into a functional, but also a recognizable, bright project, including one that is interesting to young people. For this, the history of the place was involved. For example, despite the redevelopment, the street façade retains the jagged profile of the original blue stainless steel shed roof. Outside, shops are also turned, making an emphatically open image of a former industrial facility.
Inside the site, it was necessary to solve the complex issue of the circulation of pedestrians and freight transport: for this, a maximum of new entrances and exits were added, besides, each building had one of its own, individual.
The velveteen is reminiscent of the striped paving of the courtyard and the "rib" of perforated panels on the facades (as well as the logo). The bridge between the buildings has been turned into one of the most striking, literally and figuratively, parts of the project: a bright yellow abstract sculpture.

The layouts are as flexible as possible, suitable for any function, which should protect Corduroy Alley from economic changes, which fell victim to the corduroy factory.
