On December 29, the website of the Union of Architects announced the choice of a new curator: “He suggested holding the next“Architecture”under the theme“Truth”, chosen in connection with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of manned space flight in 2021. For the first time, the festival will be curated not only by a practicing architect and public figure, but also by the acting chief architect of the administrative center of the region.
The Truth, chosen as the theme of the festival, is an important ideological construct, which in the era of information overload risks being lost, which is a huge problem for modern society and its cultural values. It is the architecture that the future curator sees as the foundation for building a new Truth, and the architect as its protector”.
All curated projects are designed to support and develop the designated topic. Chief among them will be the "Altar of Architectural Truth", which will feature installations from leading architects. The rest of the projects will be busy looking for absolute, relative and objective truths.
The co-curators of the festival will be Nikita Asadov, Vladimir Kuzmin and Eduard Kubensky - each of them already had the experience of conducting "Zodchestvo".
In addition to the ideological component, the future festival will be distinguished from its predecessors by a simple and understandable organization of space and an economical approach to construction (the declared cost savings are twice). All structures will be pre-fabricated, demountable and recyclable. The general development and the main curatorial project will "fall on the shoulders" of partner companies - regional producers.
