The organizers of the competition, the Seoul authorities, see the function of the museum in educating the public on all topics related to robots, as well as increasing public interest in them. It will appear in the Changbai New Economic Center renovation zone, and will - together with the nearby Museum of Photographic Art - become a cultural center for the Chandong district.

The purpose of the museum is to tell about the latest achievements of science and technology - bureau Melike Altınışık Architects, headed by its founder, Melike Altynyshik, expressed in a markedly innovative appearance and interior of the building, construction, construction methods, and materials used. The streamlined shape and free plan will make it easier to connect the museum with the environment, and its individual parts with each other.

The idea of the architects is that robots will play a key role there from the stage of the project, and the museum will begin its educational work while still in the "state" of the construction site. Thus, robots, according to the BIM model of the building, will shape, assemble, weld and polish the metal facade panels. At the same time, their “colleagues” will be casting concrete slabs for paving the area surrounding the museum using the 3D printing method. The authors of the project believe that such construction methods will help save time and money.

The first exhibition on the site of the new museum is planned to be shown in early 2020, and its official opening is scheduled for late 2022. The museum will operate as a branch of the Seoul Metropolitan Museum.

Bureau Melike Altynyshik is known, in particular, for its project of a 369-meter television and radio tower,

the construction of which is now being completed in Istanbul.
