Baltic Thermal Spa - architectural idea competition
Liepaja Seaside Park. Photo courtesy of the organizers of the competition. Homemade Dessert continues a series of competitions aimed at the revival and development of the Latvian city of Liepaja. In this competition, the contestants will again have to work with a space for "water procedures": if in the last competition the participants were engaged in the reconstruction of the Baths, then in this they will need to create a building of the Spa Center with indoor and outdoor pools with mineral water.
Recently, mineral springs have been discovered in Liepaja, which can serve as the basis for the Center's wellness procedures. The building is supposed to be built in Liepaja Seaside Park, a unique place where locals and tourists can enjoy the fresh sea air and thermal waters throughout the year.

Organic Skyscraper in London - Architectural Ideas Competition
Photo: www.herontowerofficespace.com Once again, the SuperSkyScrapers team provides an opportunity to reflect on the image and functionality of modern skyscrapers. This time, the contestants will need to develop a project for an "organic" skyscraper in London - a Media Center capable of changing the usable area as needed: increasing it vertically and horizontally, or even reducing it if there is a surplus of usable space for a number of reasons.
The topic of the competition is incredibly relevant: quite often, due to miscalculations of investors, commercial areas (and sometimes entire floors) of high-rise buildings are idle without tenants.

CTBUH 2014 international student competition
Project-winner of the CTBUH 2012 competition. Mosaic Habitat. Author: Alexis De Bosscher. Illustration: www.ctbuh.org The goal of the competition is to redefine the meaning and value of high-rise buildings in modern society. Skyscrapers should not only serve as examples of successful shaping or unique design, but also, according to the organizers, contribute to the development of an environmentally friendly and sustainable architectural environment. That is why the theme of this year's competition is “Towards Sustainable Vertical Urbanism”.
Contestants can choose a site for design on their own, anywhere in the world. However, this should be a "real" site, the features of which must be taken into account in the project. The functional program and size of the skyscraper project are at the discretion of the participants.
