This information was obtained by the British edition of Architects' Journal from design documents filed by Google with the Mountain View City Council, where its current headquarters are located and where the new headquarters will be built. The IT company itself has not yet provided comments on this topic.
The project involves the construction of huge glass "sheds", under which will be located workplaces and public spaces. Their configuration, unlike floors, can be easily transformed to accommodate changing office requirements within the company and around the world.
It is the construction - and the later restructuring and repair - of these light modular structures that will be entrusted to "crabot - crane" (crane + robot, robot), mobile cranes with a lifting capacity of no more than 10 tons, with high maneuverability.
The structure of the campus buildings will be an “integrated” system of steel columns and monocoque floor slabs (5 mx 14 m steel “trays”). More details about the Google Campus project can be found in our
previous post about him.
