The most notable article of the architectural press last week turned out to be the text of Grigory Revzin, published not in the newspaper, but ("for a number of reasons") on the author's Facebook page and dedicated not to the architecture of the Olympics (which is probably still to be expected from Revzin), but scenography its opening ceremony. Contrary to the widespread criticism by people of goodwill of everything that is connected with the Olympics, the author treated the show more than favorably, seeing in it the ideas of three years or even more ago: “this dance of domes”, shown by Georgy Tsypin at the 2002 Venice Biennale; although the opening was directed by Ernst. Simplifying: Revzin saw in the direction of the ceremony all the best that is in the Russian style, precisely found images of Russian culture - the domes of Lentulov, the theatrical avant-garde of Tairov and Vesnin, Peter I from the drawing by Valentin Serov … … Why, where did it come from? - Yes, very simple, Revzin replies, such a direction is planned for a long time and in the current ceremony we see echoes of what was invented three years ago, which is why it is all so subtle and to the point. A fresh wind blew from the past into the sails of the country's international super-presentation. Yes, it's not fun around, foreigners scold the toilets, but the ceremony was a success, after all.
The desire to praise creative luck without political reservations and to catch the light (which is obtained not just at the end of the tunnel, but also from behind), instantly came out to the author, if not sideways, then - a stream of public indignation: in the comments the horrors of Olympic Sochi, and Evgeny Ass in a couple of days posted on his page a link to the pretentious ode to Lukashenko's residence by the Belarusian architect Yakov Odelsky, with a meaningful comment: "For the edification of Grigory Revzin and other architectural critics." Hold on, in a word, critics, we will not forget - we will not forgive.
Konstantin Budarin, on the contrary, wanted to write a commentary on the opening ceremony for Art1, but wrote about architecture, or rather about its absence. But the main conclusion of the article is that today's "architecture is integrated into the TV" and is focused on Facebook and Instagram. As you can see, the architectural response to the Olympiad revolves between scenography and Facebook. However, there are also monuments: "Karpovka" writes about the buildings preserved in St. Petersburg, built for the Olympics-80.
However, the Olympics are the Olympics, and the old themes have not gone anywhere. "Komersant" learned the details of the project for the development of the territory of the "ZIL" plant in Moscow. The Kommersant correspondent talked with the authors of the project, Yuri Grigoryan and Vitaly Lutz. Also "Komersant" informs about the reconstruction of the building of the gas tank in St. Petersburg. The destroyed monument is planned to be converted into a parking lot.
The details of the formation of the Novosibirsk agglomeration are reported by Sib.fm and RIA Novosti. It is reported that the regional government has allocated four zones of advanced development, among these zones will be Aerocity and Naukopolis.
Conversations around the Shukhov Tower do not subside either. Yopolis on its website again brings up the topic of her salvation. The article provides detailed information about the current state of the monument and the prospects for its restoration. Radio Liberty clarifies that the fate of the tower may be determined by the Russian government as early as the end of February.
Meanwhile, reminds the Kultura TV channel, the Ministry of Culture changed its mind about suing for the inviolability of the Arkhangelskoye territory. Recall that in November, the court declared the lease of park areas illegal, but this week the Deputy Minister of Culture Grigory Ivliev and the director of the museum Andrei Busygin officially announced in court that they were abandoning claims against the tenants of the park areas, as they settled the controversial issues by signing an additional agreement: the tenant undertakes carry out forestry work, ensure fire safety and restore the forest. The Russian agency of legal and judicial information, in turn, reported that the court has not yet accepted the waiver of the claim, since a new agreement was created for an agreement that was previously invalidated. Due to the complexity of the situation, it was decided to postpone the meeting until March 12.
Petersburg continues to fight for monuments. Sankt-Peterburgskie Vedomosti reports that residents have come to the defense of Shpalernaya Street, where it is planned to demolish the buildings of the former Okeanpribor Research Institute and build a large residential complex in their place. The developer is Reforma LLC. The fact that on the night of February 11 at 51 Shpalernaya Street collapsed the wall of the historic building overlooking Stavropolskaya Street, writes "Fontanka.ru". City rights activists do not believe in the spontaneous collapse of the building, the demolition of which was banned by the Kuibyshevsky district court just a week ago.
In Samara, talks continue about the demolition of wooden buildings in the historic center of the city. Novaya Gazeta analyzes the opinion of the Governor of the Samara Region Nikolai Ivanovich Merkushkin, who earlier said: “We cannot restore wooden, rotten, emergency houses. Therefore, as an option, we are considering the possibility either on the arrow or in another place to create a museum street, on which it will be possible to show what wooden Samara was like”.
This week the focus of attention was the fate of historic cities such as Kazan and Vyborg. "Evening Kazan" talks about development and reconstruction projects affecting almost all districts of the capital of Tatarstan. On Monday they were presented by the chief architect of the city Tatyana Prokofieva. At the same time, the timing of the implementation of large-scale projects is still very vague. Also these days the architectural community of Finland and Russia is deciding what to do with the historical center of Vyborg. This is the story on tv100. Another city, near Moscow Zhukovsky, also caused concern. Mikhail Limonad, professor at the State University for Land Management, said that "the unique development of the old town in Zhukovsky should become a UNESCO monument." You can read more about this on the pages of IA REGNUM.
From the cultural news of the capital. Gazeta.ru tells about the exhibition of Eduardo Souto de Moura, which is currently taking place in the Museum. Shchusev. And "RIA Novosti" announces an exhibition of frescoes found in the building of Stroyburo in Korolev, Moscow Region. The exhibition will open on February 17 at the Avant-garde Center at the Jewish Museum in Moscow.
