After the redevelopment, designed by Stephen Hall, all of the faculty space was concentrated on six floors of a building from the late 19th century, around a new staircase. The idea behind the project was to make the most of the role of light and an innovative approach to materials. The staircase, which links all the classrooms together, ends at the top with a glass ceiling that turns it into a kind of light well. Its perforated metal sheet railings create an endless play of light and shade that will change with the season and time of day. The first floor will also be used by students from other faculties, there is a new lecture hall with a floor made of cork panels. Above, there are smaller classrooms for seminars and classrooms for teachers. The whole project is done in black and white, and the combination of these colors varies from room to room; when choosing a color scheme, Stephen Hall was guided by the work of the founder of modern analytical philosophy Ludwig Wittgenstein "Notes on color".
