Korve in Kurdistan province is a city with a population of about 115 thousand. The client of the project wished to receive a building with an area of 540 m2 consisting of two apartments: a duplex and a multifunctional space for living and working.
The surrounding buildings are dominated by ordinary houses with "two-dimensional" facades, and the architects of ReNa Design, led by Reza Najafyan, decided to offer something radically different - despite the typical plot and close proximity to other buildings.
The field for the experiment was the facade, interpreted as a sculptural form made of wood and brick, materials that are durable and traditional for the region. The rhythm set by the brickwork and slats contrasts with the dynamics of the wall as a whole.
