The development of this project was carried out by GrandProjectCity LLC as part of the working documentation for the Olympic facility: “Construction of the Adler Ring traffic interchange” and is a continuation of the architectural and artistic solutions laid down in the “Unified Concept for the Architectural Development of the Territory for the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Games 2014 in the city of Sochi.
The binding of decorative rings was carried out on the general plan of the multilevel junction “Adler Ring” under construction in the inner space of turns and intersections of transport highways, which, along with overpasses, creates a complex and unique context of space, a vivid and memorable image.
On the outside, the rings are lined with monochrome aluminum panels AluWALL System, the names of the continents and the inner part of the ring are highlighted in accordance with the approved colors in the RAL system. In the dark, external illumination of the rings is provided. Most of the inner surface of the ring is cut with a "snow" ornament in accordance with the unified architectural concept of Sochi 2014. The letters of the names of the continents on the face of the ring are cut and deepened similar to the "snow" pattern of the inner part. The use of such techniques on the rings creates a complex decorative effect of perceiving the monumental decorative composition as a whole, both during the day and when using night illumination. The composition of the roundabout with the rings is well perceived not only from highways, but also when approaching the Adler airport from airliners.
