For construction, a plot of 0.8 hectares was selected on the edge of Festival Park in the city center, also laid out according to Norten's design. At a height of 30-35 m, the museum will become one of the tallest buildings in the city, but this does not scare the city officials. They insist on the need to improve the quality of architectural design in the city and to attract the attention of citizens to the field of culture and art.
The elevated horizontal volume of the main exhibition hall protrudes from the tower of the new museum. Visitors can relax in its shadow, and a cafe will open on its roof. The roof of the museum itself will be used as the second terrace, where it is planned to arrange an outdoor exhibition of sculptures.
The construction should not take more than one year in time, but the start date has not yet been determined.
