The building will be located on the shores of Lake Geneva, in the immediate vicinity of the Chateau de Vidi, which the Committee occupies today. The area of the site is about 2.4 hectares. The project aims to bring together nearly 600 IOC employees working today in different parts of the city. It is declared that neither the historical building itself, nor the park around it will suffer from new construction in any way.
Probably, there is no organization in the world with more unambiguous, well-known principles and ideological principles. Therefore, the choice of the conceptual basis of the IOC building project did not constitute labor for architects: movement, flexibility and sustainable development. They tried to give dynamics to the appearance of the object: due to the complex wave-like shape, the building will be perceived completely differently from all sides.
The interior, of course, will not do without the obligatory “ring theme”. But, in general, it will be an open space with a minimum number of supports and other design constraints. According to architects, it is easy to adapt it to any style of work. At the same time, such a solution will ensure a high level of communication between employees.
Already at the concept stage, great attention is paid to environmental issues. The plans include the active use of various resource-saving technologies: geothermal heat pumps, solar panels, artificial lighting control systems, depending on the level of daylight.
