Since 1996, the Kunsthalle has been located in the former Löwenbräu brewery, where it neighbors the Migros Museum of Contemporary Art and several galleries. After reconstruction, the brewery complex retained its "cultural" tenants and received the new name Löwenbräukunst.
To finance the redevelopment, a residential tower and an office building have been added to the industrial building: they will be ready by the end of this year (all parts of the project are done by Gigon / Guyer).
The Kunsthalle in the historical part of the premises it occupies, in addition to the two existing ones, received another floor with a library, administrative spaces, meeting rooms, an archive and workshops. The white concrete block crawling over the old section houses exhibition halls, a space for social events and a rooftop terrace.
