A competition is being held in London for the design of the summer Peace Pavilion, which is supposed to be built on the territory of London's Museum Gardens park. The participants of the competition were faced with a difficult task: to express in language the architectural idea of a peaceful future on earth. A specific point of the earth - Sudan, where fragile peaceful relations between the peoples of North and South Sudan were recently established, was also proposed for consideration. The organizers hope that the rich history of the country (where, for example, there are twice as many pyramids as in Egypt), will become the starting point for the creative imagination of the contestants.
According to the terms of the competition, the pavilion should not be higher than 4 m, and its total area should not exceed 20 sq. m. The pavilion will be used as a place for recreation and communication of mainly creative people. The start of implementation of the winning project is scheduled for April 1, 2013, and all construction work is planned to be completed by mid-May.

The organizers of the international competition held within the framework of the Art-Ovrag 2013. Garden City festival propose to design a Balancing Pavilion for the city of Vyksa. The pavilion, where it is planned to hold exhibitions of contemporary art and master classes all year round, should be transformable, collapsible, devoid of foundations, put on point supports - and adapted for placement in different parts of the city. The pavilion area should not exceed 30 sq. m, and its cost is 20,000 euros. Thirty best projects will be shown at exhibitions in Vyksa, and the winner's project will be implemented this summer.

Concept design will be judged in three nominations: Best in Light Architecture (Appetizers), Best Basic Architecture (Hot) and Best Dessert in Architecture.
In the practical part, it is proposed to develop a glazed veranda of the Buffet restaurant, as well as to think about the architecture of individual pavilions for 6-8 people. It is important that the design of the veranda and the conceptual reflections on architecture and food are intertwined.

Urbanism and territorial development

The competition is aimed at solving by means of architecture the acute issue for the ASEAN participating countries of the border territories, which have been in desolation for many years. How and by what means to achieve this - the contestants are invited to think about it. The emphasis should be on addressing cultural, social and environmental issues. In a separate nomination, a design project competition for the Moscow region city of Kashira is presented: here it is proposed to design a new Center for Youth and Cultural Leisure "Art Studio", a multifunctional transforming space for holding seminars, symposia, musical and theatrical performances, exhibitions or film festivals. The winner's project will be implemented in the city park of culture and recreation on the basis of the former summer cinema.
