The Marina Lofts complex will begin construction in late 2013 on the banks of the small river New River, on the site of an industrial zone dividing the park running along the water in two. The project envisages the creation of a green area around the residential buildings, which will finally connect both parts of Riverwalk Park. At the same time, the historic Rhine-Three tree, which is now at the construction site, will be transferred to the new Rhine-Three-park nearby.
The two main towers of the complex will face each other with their ends simulating a gap: a passage between them will connect the city and the green river bank. To prevent the inhabitants of the houses from looking at each other through the windows on closely spaced side facades, the architects arranged them in a checkerboard pattern.
A third tower will appear above the existing "garage" for 250 boats and yachts, and the nearby water taxi station will receive new pavilions and sheds.
The complex will have 1000 apartments, while the lower floors will house shops (2300 m2) and cafes (930 m2) facing the water.
