A four-storey shopping and entertainment center with a total area of 74,000 sq. M. Will appear in the immediate vicinity of the high-rise buildings designed by KSP Engel & Zimmermann. m. In parallel with the construction of this building, the parts of the palace of the princes von Thurn und Taxis of the 18th century, which survived the bombing of World War II, will be reconstructed, located next to the construction site.
Fuksas's idea is to create a "flowing interior space" in the complex, drawing visitors horizontally to the shopping pavilions, and vertically to the "action space". The fact is that a space for public events will be created on the upper levels of the shopping center, which will be used by the city authorities for their own needs.
Also, from the roof of the building it will be possible to fully appreciate the "canyon idea" laid down in the project: the shell of glass and steel covering the building penetrates into the building in the form of walls of a huge "funnel", connecting all floors and playing the role of a light well.
Delivery of the building is scheduled for 2007.
