Residents of Skorba, the western suburb of the ancient Slovenian city of Ptuj, took an active part in the discussion of the project, in the search for financing for the purchase of the land and in the construction of the chapel itself - as volunteers. “So this is not high-tech and not all the details are perfect,” explains the authors of the project, the Ljubljana architectural bureau Enota. - But he interacts well with the environment, is distinguished by clarity of forms, simplicity and solidity."

The place was found next to the building of the public center of Sorrow, where once there was a village spring, next to the watershed of two rivers - hence a small hill in which the amphitheater of the chapel is inscribed.

The main feature of the project, of course, is that the chapel is open to the sky: there is a small visor only in the altar part, and simple seats without backs are placed on an open concrete slope. It is designed as a public space and, in addition to the main, prayer function, is intended to endow the village with a real, noticeable center, "gathering" a sluggish heterogeneous space around a clear and bright form. So this is a chapel-square, and it is even difficult to say which function prevails - rather, the actual topic of public space and the traditional temple are closely intertwined.

The concrete base is built from the triangular base platform up the slope, similar to origami - and because everything is cast from white concrete, the similarity to paper only intensifies - and is separated from the grassy surroundings by clear stereometric man-madeness, acquiring the features of an abstract sculptural pedestal for another sculpture, in the altar. A narrow concrete path leads from the chapel square to the village road.
