The source of inspiration for the architects was the prairies of the US Midwest, where Chicago is located, and the famous skyscrapers of this metropolis, so the building consists of two parts: a horizontally elongated "base" and a 52-meter tower.
The Arts Center houses classrooms for film, media research, writing, music, theater, and visual arts departments. The tower houses a penthouse with an auditorium, a cinema, a rooftop terrace, seminars, rehearsal rooms and laboratories. They are connected by spectacular staircases and spacious elevators, and the walls are adorned with bespoke tiles and fabrics for the Logan Center.
The "base" contains workshops, music classes, a digital media center, laboratories, cafes, two theater halls and a main hall for 474 spectators.
Extensive use of natural light, photovoltaic and greening on roofs, as well as the use of local building materials (including stone façades) have allowed the project to qualify for the LEED Silver Resource Efficiency Certificate.
